Community Testimonial: Ryann Kress
My name is Ryann and I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome about 10 years ago. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes the body to produce collagen that is too lax or stretchy. This leads to a multitude of symptoms, the most notable for me being hypermobile joints that dislocate easily. I began having to walk with a cane once my hips, knees, and ankles began to loosen up and give out on me, but it began apparent fairly quickly that a simple cane wasn’t giving me enough support. My doctor recommended forearm crutches and sent me to physical therapy to learn how to use them. My PT happened to have a set of Ergobaum 7G forearm crutches and let me try them out. I fell in love! The padded hand grips were so much easier on my fingers and wrists! I no longer had permanent bruises on my arms thanks to the padded forearm cuffs and the built in shock absorption system was so much gentler on my shoulders. For the first time in a long time, I was finally able to go out by myself without constantly worrying about falling. My 7G crutches have allowed me to continue to travel, go out with friends, get back in the gym, and keep up with my friends and family during a time in my life where I would otherwise be too afraid of injuries to do much more than leave the house! The Ergobaum 7G’s help give me my life back and I can’t my life without them! Thank you so much Ergoactives!
