A: The frame material. The Black Mamba is full carbon fiber at 1.8 lb per crutch, the aluminum XG is 2.2 lb. Everything else is identical, same patented geometry, same ergonomic grip, same full body shock absorption, same adjustment range. The Black Mamba is the lightest and stiffest crutch we make.

A: The Black Mamba keeps the same patented walking system as our flagship but removes the LED light, alert button and knee rest, and replaces the frame with real carbon fiber. That is how it gets so much lighter while walking exactly the same way.

A: Every Black Mamba ships with the patented Ergocap High Performance tip, which reproduces the natural heel to toe walking motion.

A: The Ergocap Ultralite is a lighter version of the tip. Choosing it at checkout takes each crutch from 1.8 lb down to 1.4 lb, our lowest weight ever, a saving of 0.4 lb per side.

A: Hold the lower pole firmly with one hand, then pull up and twist the tip with the other hand.

Q: How do I replace the rubber on the handgrip?

A: The rubber part cannot be replaced on its own. We sell a complete handgrip replacement.
