i’m a 66 year-old amputee since 1994, 5'11", 175lbs. In those 28 years, I've mostly used a prosthesis, but I have extensive experience with simple forearm crutches. However, I've been suffering from an arthritic carpal-metacarpal joint on my left thumb/hand which now makes the use of rigid forearm crutches painful. I had to recently return to the use of forearm crutches because of stump issues that prevent me from donning my prosthesis. So...back to the old crutches. I began searching for a more comfortable crutch and came across the 7G. A bit pricey, but given that I'll be using them for the next few months after the upcoming re-amputation of my leg, I decided that I needed these guys!
I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and occasionally need help walking. I've tried different styles of canes in the past, but NOTHING compares to these! I usually only use one at a time (similar to a cane) and the support it has on my arms is SO nice, and they're comfortable! I highly recommend these forearm crutches!
One of the best items I purchased for injury recovery. I will never go back to traditional crutches. It took about 3 days to get transition from traditional crutches. These are better in portability, movement, range of movement and stability. The quality and the materials is well-made. Someone could argue its over-designed because of the flashlight, reflectors and panic button.
I love everything! How they help me stand up straight. The ease on my arms! The headlights. The HORN!! The color. How sturdy they are! I love and treasure them to bits.
I had a bicycle wreck in July that has left me long-term temporarily crippled on my left leg, so I ordered these when I was still in the hospital. I am so glad I got them. They are easy to get on and off, and when I need to open my car door it's no problem because with the strap I can let go of the crutch handle and not lose the crutch. They are very stable even on slippery surfaces, such as when we go to the neighborhood lap pool. I get compliments on them from patients in my doctors office, as well as the staff and my doctors, and my Ortho always tells me how well I'm walking with them. I got the purple pair because it's my favorite color and Lucinda and Raquel (yep - I named them) are my BFFs. We go everywhere together. At least for the next 6-9 months.
