Q: What is the difference between this and the aluminum cane?

A: The frame material. This is full carbon fiber at 1.8 lb, our lightest and stiffest cane. Everything else is identical, same geometry, same grip, same shock absorption, same adjustment range.

Q: Can I use it as a crutch or only as a cane?

A: Both. It is a single Ergobaum unit, so it works as a premium everyday cane or as a single forearm crutch.

Q: Which tip does it come with?

A: It ships with the patented Ergocap High Performance tip, which reproduces the natural heel to toe walking motion.

Q: What is the Ultralite tip upgrade?

A: A lighter version of the tip. Choosing it at checkout takes the cane from 1.8 lb down to 1.4 lb, a saving of 0.4 lb.

Q: Is carbon fiber as strong as aluminum?

A: Yes. Carbon fiber is stiffer than aluminum at a lower weight, which is why this is both our lightest and our most rigid cane.

Q: How do I adjust the height?

A: Push the button towards the middle of the pole and pull up or down to your desired height. It adjusts in 1 inch increments and fits users from 5 foot 1 to 6 foot 6.

Q: How do I remove the tip to replace it?

A: Hold the lower pole firmly with one hand, then pull up and twist the tip with the other hand.

Q: How do I replace the rubber on the handgrip?

A: The rubber part cannot be replaced on its own. We sell a complete handgrip replacement.

Q: How much weight can it hold?

A: Up to 180 lb.

Q: Does it fold?

A: Yes, it folds for storage and travel.

Q: Does carbon fiber need special care?

A: No special maintenance. Wipe the frame clean and check the tip for wear like any cane. Carbon fiber does not corrode.

Warranty

Your ERGOBAUM forearm crutches are warranted against defects in material and/or workmanship for one (1) year. This warranty does not extend to accessories and non-durable components, such as Ergo Cap crutch tips, grips, or soft goods which are subject to normal wear and replacement. Non-durable or consumable components are warranted against manufacturer defects for 30 days. The warranty does not extend to batteries, packaging, or packaging components (e.g. clips, ties, stickers). 

If within such warranty period any such product shall be proven to be defective, such product shall be repaired or replaced at Ergoactives’ discretion. Refer to Ergoactives’ general Warranty Policy for further limitations and exclusions.
